Updates (26/05/2008)

yeah so it's more than a year since my last post. i forgot i had a blog and found it again by chance when crawling about dave hughes' site. so yeah what's been going down for the last year? well apart from having 365 days more experience in being alive, i completed my goal of doing 100 gigs in 2007 on boxing day. was a rather great gig. i got a band in august of o7 featuring me on vocals/electric guitar, my cousin jordan edwards on vocals/guitar, grant maccall on vocals/bass and david martin goodfellow on the drum kit and additional vocalness. we started out as a fairly straight-up pop/rock band, but destiny took over and mutated us like tocar and raezor from turtles 2: secrets of the ooze and made us grow into some super-charged, fully grown rock beast of a group. we're more dillinger escape plan that dylan. but dylan is rotten, every sensible man knows.

yeah, so we've been rehearsing and gigging and stuff. in january 08, i demoed every song i still liked and tonnes of new ones before we went into Chem19 Studios (Hamilton, nr Glasgow) to record two songs with dave macauley what used to play guitar for terra diablo (who we ended up gigging with). was a fun few days, made better by the fact the mogwai were recording their new record in the next room. they were super ok men. lent us some cymbals and a snare to record with. cheers 'gwaiers. then i turned 21 and me and jord went to barcelona for a few days. then we came back. we kept it quiet for most of the start of 2008. if i was telling the truth it would be that one day it was january and the next it was summer and we were drinking in jord's back door with driller and spider. we didn't really notice that 6 months had basically ran away.

bye x
